Kitty Kad NFT Rarities (Part 1 — High Level Features)

Since all 10,000 kitties have been adopted, our kitty scientists have been busy researching their features. There is a lot of depth to the study, but we thought we’d share our initial findings.

In the future we’ll be sharing more insights and with infographics.

We’ll start at a high level and break it down by features. Sub-features (which will be covered later) also exist along-side most features. These are things like different colored eyes or bracelets that are sometimes worn with jackets etc.

There is also a lot more to rarities than this list as combinations of rare features will make kitties extra rare.

PS — the below only include 9,999 of the kitties, as the very first kitty that was minted is un-tradeable and is the original Kitty Kad.
PPS — we’re still double confirming the numbers, but we’re 99% confident they’re correct

Eyes

While we’re sure most kitties have eyes, 8,892 kitties have eyes that are visible without obstruction (i.e. not covered by glasses etc).

Eyes also have sub-features like eye color that aren’t covered below:

6,049 are the default ones
929 have squinty eyes
943 have sleepy / down facing eyes
435 have adorable big eyes (see #37)
211 have diamond shaped eyes (see #61)
140 have vertical (think Kirby) style eyes (see #56)
40 have narrow dot eyes (see # 9828)
39 have narrow dot eyes that are high (see #184)
37 have normal dot eyes (see #9652)
36 have normal dot eyes that are high up (see #98)
33 have dot eyes that are wide (see #9932)

Mouth

9,731 have a visible mouth:

7,273 have the default mouth shape
1,248 have a surprised (small dot) mouth
1,210 have a wide mouth

Ears

8,872 kitties have visible ears. Ears can also have sub features of having pink ear tips, white ear tips, random colored ear tips and non-colored ear tips.

6,593 have the default ears
576 have the right ear folded
569 have the left ear folded
445 have speedy (both ears slanted) ears (see #96)
422 have perky (more vertical) ears (see #79)
147 have both ears folded
120 have monkey (round) ears (see #28)

Belly

9,420 have a visible belly area:

8,528 have nothing on their belly
754 have a round patch on their belly
138 have a heart shaped belly

Tail

Every cat has a visible tail and it’s pretty hard to describe these without using words like long, extra long, etc.

958 have a short tail (see #34)

Stripes

3,244 kitties have a visible stripe pattern. Stripes can either be on the left or right side of the body and can be in a higher or lower position.

1,578 have diagonal stripes
837 have z-shaped stripes
829 have straight (horizontal) stripes

Jacket

824 kitties have a jacket. Kitties with jackets can also have a black or random colored bracelet as a sub-feature.

412 have a normal vest (see #9)
88 have a sweater that is lower placed (see #11)
87 have a small vest (see #7)

76 have a normal placed sweater (see #79)
74 have a v-neck (see #49)

Hat

1,172 kitties have a hat. Hats can have a “K” (for Kadena) on them and have different color patterns as a sub-feature.

148 have a bowler hat (curved top hat)

78 have a crown
76 have a farmer hat
74 have a “river” hat (see #6 kitty for context)
64 have an “evil” top hat (red stripe and different shape)
63 have a pirate hat
63 have a regular sized rice field hat

51 have a regular mushroom hat

Necklaces

1,158 have necklaces. Necklaces can have different colored chains and be positioned higher or lower on the shoulders.

Glasses

1,157 kitties have glasses. Glasses have the most variety of styles and features. Glasses can have different patterns, colors, reflection (glare) and position (higher / lower on the face). Also, kitties with varying eye colors wear glasses.

171 have “cool” glasses (see #9988)
169 wear “nerdy” glasses (regular glasses, but positioned a little high and not necessarily nerdy — checkout #97 for context)
131 have big glasses with a wide frame(see #41)

268 kitties have a mouth accessory, which are mainly smokable items, likely containing cat-nip. These can be left facing or right facing.
