How To Prevent Emails From Getting Marked As Spam In Gmail?

If you sent an email with attachments asking for personal details or if your message includes offensive content, there are chances that your email would get blocked or marked as spam. If you are also trying to send an email but it is getting marked as spam, then go through this blog and find a way to prevent it. Note that Google only marks an email as spam if it suspects anything unusual or offensive in the email. To know why your email might be blocked, read the points given below:

  1. If your email is being marked as spam, make sure Gmail can authenticate you. To ensure that first check if you are sending the mail from the same IP address. Furthermore, make sure that you are selecting the same From header for every message and you have a valid reverse DNS record.
  2. Your email can also get blocked if your email is signed using keys fewer than 1024 bits. To fix this issue, you must sign your messages with DKIM.
  3. If you are sending email from your computer, check if the sending IP has a PTR recover. Your email address should pass either SPF or DKIM check.
  4. Secondly, if you are facing this issue even if your email is authenticated, make sure not to purchase any email address from third-party.
  5. You need to provide each recipient an opt-in and unsubscribe option to subscribe/unsubscribe from your email.
  6. Always confirm all the email addresses before subscribing them.
  7. When users get a lot of emails they don’t read, Gmail will show the card to unsubscribe from it. You can either provide a link to unsubscribe from the email in the email body or an option for them to reply to your email to unsubscribe. Furthermore, the recipient should be able to unsubscribe directly without providing any additional information.
