Even with the record-low unemployment rate, finding a job is hard. I found myself applying to only one or two jobs after reading tens and hundreds of job postings.

This happened to me because:

  1. Despite using filters, many job posts do not match my skill sets, experience, and interest
  2. The filters associated with the job posting do not match the information in the job post

What’s the current experience on LinkedIn Jobs?

Venmo, a popular money transfer application (cred: Venmo)

Venmo, an application widely used to send and request money from your friends, has risen as one of the must-have applications for millennials and Gen Z-ers. Venmo essentially makes social money transferring easy to do compared to traditional money wiring, where it requires routing and account numbers. In its core, it’s a social way to pay your friends when you owe them money and you don’t want to deal with cash. …

At the end of 2018, I told myself that 2019 will be the year that I focus on self-discovery, self-care, and most importantly, self-love.

And I wanted to find a way to document this journey of mine. But how? I was never the type to write a diary entry every day or go through my Snapchat stories to pick out the “highlight” snaps.

Then I saw these videos with #1SecondEveryday while I was scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed during the holidays. It was a compilation of 1-second video snippets that were taken over the course of 2018.

Since I’ve been back home, I’ve had some time to reflect back on the past year and how I grew to appreciate Duke and all that it has to offer.

I’ll be honest:

I hated Duke for the first 3 semesters.

I always felt like I didn’t belong here, like I wasn’t getting the best Duke experience, and like I didn’t really know who I was and what I wanted to do. (not that I know what I want to do now either) This year was full of changes that I didn’t tell anyone about, but it went something like this:

It’s going to get better. I promise. It will all work out.

That was what I wanted to believe in.

A lot happened in past few years.

I developed a hyper personality majorly because of 2 reasons: 1) I wanted to conceal my flaws in mental stability and pessimistic view toward the…

What I learned and gained at Duke.

Decisions, decisions, decisions…

Just last week, thousands of high school seniors received their early application results. Whether you were accepted, deferred, or rejected, congratulations! You have reached one of the major milestones of your life.

What does college mean to me?

College is exciting. College is fun. College means freedom. College means responsibilities. College is meant for experiments. College is meant for failures. But mostly importantly,

College helps you learn and grow. College is the prime time where you learn about your abilities and capabilities.

Class of 2020, you’re in for a sweet ride.

122 days, 17 weeks, 4 months.

It’s only been one semester at Duke but it feels like I’ve been at Duke…
