Meet Greg Abbott

Greg Abbott is Texas’ 48th governor. Abbott was born in Witchita Falls, Texas, and raised in Duncanville, Texas. He attended University of Texas in Austin where he received his B.B.A. in finance. He then went on to Vanderbilt University where he received his degree in law. Not long after he graduated, Abbott was jogging when we was struck by a falling tree. This accident left him partly paralyzed. Despite his paralysis, Abbott enjoys hunting and is an avid sportsman. Abbott is married to First Lady Cecilia Abbott. They have been married for 33 years, and live in Austin. They have one daughter named Audrey, who is in college.

Accomplishments

Prior to being elected as Governor, Abbott served as attorney general. He was the longest-serving general attorney in the history of Texas. He was also a Justice on the Texas Supreme court. Abbott is a strong advocate for the constitutional principles that this country was found on, and believes strongly in values such as “faith, family and freedom”. Abbott is currently focused on creating more jobs, improving and elevating schools and education, providing transportation that will boast the economy and securing the Texas border.
