How could education reform look like?

Let’s start from the beginning 🙇. Primary school 🏫, let just play en enjoy our youth, don’t be to serious, grades and other stuff.

There no ‘one size fits all model’ in education in my opinion. Every child is different, some children get awareness very early on some just develop that ability later on. Let them make mistakes, let them color outside the lines of the paper, it’s a far cry from committing an actual crime 😝😆. You can search for these two factors; are they introvert or are they an extrovert. Let them taste on all different kinds of stuff, eventually they choose what they like. If you necessarily need to close them into boxes do based upon if you know if they are an introvert or an extrovert.

When they eventually know what they kind of want, let them explore this route. Give them the good sources from which they can choose like, youtube with interviews from proven people in certain industries. When they want to go deeper give them access towards that knowledge, like MOOC’s and the feedback of a teacher (this last one is very critical). In one of my last posts I showed you that the fail rate of MOOC are enormous. The reason for that is that not every student can handle a very difficult situation and eventually they quit. Not everybody has the same motivation, some have none. So feedback from a teacher is crucial. To get a bit deeper in how crucial feedback can be addictive and could ve applied we go into gaming.

Gaming is hugely addictive industry maybe even a new drug. What makes these games so addictive that children want to keep playing?? One part the insane good feedback loop, on the other hand the online collaboration that is very good, what they eventually can achieve and literally get in some situations and the SIMPLICITY of the learning experience.

Here is a slideshare about how to make addictive games.

Give them access towards sources of great information; youtube, coursera, udacity, sololearn, treehouse etc.

Look I’m not saying that this is the solution because “execution is everything” but open yourself up to other possibilities. Does this make any sense…?
