How to choose the best Webinar Software in 3 easy steps
According to Letter.ly, the webinar market is expected to reach $800 Million by 2023. The great news is, if you’ve never run your own webinar before, it’s definitely time to jump in.
But, where do you start?
There’s so many different types of software available, which one do you choose?
When selecting your webinar software, there are 3 things to consider…
1. What’s your goal and outcome?
The first step is to decide what role Webinars will play in your business, both now and in the future.
Are you trying Webinars out to see how they work and how you go?
Are you looking to start an online business with a weekly Webinar?
Or do you already have a successful sales funnel that you wish to automate with a Webinar?
Depending on what your purpose or outcome is, you’ll have a very different need or requirement to fulfil.
In other words, when you’re looking at a simple starter software versus a fully automated and integrated solution, that’s two very different kettles of fish.
Ask yourself, what are you using the webinar for? E.g. lead generation, making recorded content, just testing the waters, or sales funnel automation?
So, what are you wanting to achieve and how will it fit within your current marketing plan?
2. What’s your budget?
When I started out running webinars, many moons ago, there was just one software — GoToWebinar.
It was a great software, and did all the things it was supposed to do — but it was clunky and hugely expensive. (Three of us had to buy the software together to share the cost.)
Little did I know at the time, this software was over complicated and mostly purchased by corporations with high budgets and used as an inter-office communication and training software.
Thankfully now, there are many more options to suit any budget, here’s our pick of the bunch:
Demio:
Costing $49/m or $34/m annually for up to 50 live attendees, including a 14 Day Trial so you can try it out. Demio offers both Live and Pre-recorded Webinars, this platform is great for beginners with intuitive registration pages and brilliant customer service support.
EverWebinar:
$499 billed annually or $874 biennial, includes a 14 Day Trial. EverWebinar was created to automate screenings of your pre-recorded Webinars, also known as Evergreen Webinars. The platform is for the more advanced with the potential to optimise your audiences’ webinar screenings times to ensure higher opt-ins and attendees.
Webinar Ninja:
$29/m or $24/m annually for unlimited attendees, includes a 14 Day Trial. Webinar Ninja is popular because there’s no limit to your attendees whilst keeping a very competitive price. The software is designed to suit everyone with a simple and easy set up process for beginners and for the more tech savvy, sales pages, email tracking and Facebook Ads integrations.
3. What are your tech capabilities?
This is the most important.
This is the part where you have to be honest with yourself.
What are your technological capabilities like?
Are you capable of diving into any software, knowing that you won’t get it at the start, but can push through and have the confidence to complete the task?
Or do you shy away from any new software or tech, and run for the hills?
Either way you are not alone.
The trick is to know who you are, know your limitations, be confident that you may not have all the answers and to ask for help when you need to.
If it’s simple and step-by-step you need, start with Demio or Webinar Ninja — where it’s very intuitive and will prompt you every step of the way.
Remember to keep it simple and start out with a basic software option with great online support.
If however, you’ve got the confidence and are already a master of online sales funnels, you’ll need something a bit more advanced for your online marketing strategy.

Recap
At the end of the day you may not choose any of these softwares and may have another in mind, which is perfect.
This 3-step process will still work for any software you select moving forward.
It’s clear that webinars are here to stay and aren’t going anywhere.
Remember to choose your outcome, select your budget and ensure it’s in line with your technical skills.
So will you jump on the webinar bandwagon?
