MagicJack Set The Bar
There’s an epidemic on the net, and MagicJack is the only one who has done anything about it.
There are a series of scams circulating the internet. Each one has a different name, but they all have the same end-goal. An end-user is having trouble with their printer, or their computer, or their piece of software, or their cell phone. They want to call tech support, so they go to the Google and type in “[Tech Name] Tech Support” and often times the first result, or at least one of the top results, is a fake phone number, after which you call and all they want to do is remote into your computer so they can infect it without you knowing, then charge you anywhere between $150 up to $450 for some sort of Annual Protection Plan to keep your computer clean.
I work in IT and see this happen every week. It’s clearly an epidemic, and needs to stop.
That is where MagicJack comes in; they are the first, and more importantly, the only company that I have seen take action and warn their users about said fraud attempts. Furthermore, they gave out every possible phone number that might be used to contact their customers. That kind of dedication to customers’ safety has me rooting for MagicJack, and I don’t even have their service.
Kudo’s to you, Magic Jack.
