My Jump into Youtube Content Creation

Youtube has been my main source of entertainment since I was a little kid in elementary school with nothing better to do but playing video games and building make-shift blanket forts. I’ve probably watched more than thousands of hours of content at this point.

For quite some time now I’ve wanted to create content for Youtube and become a Youtuber. However, something always stops me from ever releasing a video. I’ve stopped multiple times while editing, thinking, “Oh this isn’t good enough,” and throw the project away. I’ve stopped shooting, while recording a video, and I have numerous ideas that I’ve written down in a notebook that have never reached production.

I recently decided to take a leap of faith and finally release a video.

Did I get a vrial hit? No.

Amidst the thousands of content creators and millions of content out there, it’s hard to distinguish yourself from the rest and reach an audience.

Currently Youtube statistics:

  • 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute
  • Almost 5 billion videos are watched on Youtube every single day.
  • The total number of hours of video watched on YouTube each month — 900 million.
  • 10,113 Youtube videos generated over 1 billion views.
  • 80% of YouTube’s views are from outside of the U.S.
  • The average number of mobile YouTube video views per day is 1,000,000,000
