Timekeeper 3000!
Timekeeper keeps your time
I don’t know about you but at my work I have to log my own hours and being the fuck up that I am, I always keep pushing it back until the end of the month where I have better luck in winning Miss Armenia than remembering what I was doing on a Monday morning a month ago.
One of my coworkers is a misguided Windows-aligned kind of dude and he has this program that pops up every now and then and inquires about what he is currently doing. I thought that would be perfect but after much googling I didn't find much on Linux clients that perform such actions.
So I made a thing. It has a silly name and is probably badly coded but it works! And I use it all the time. When I get a angry email from the whip-wielding bear (that’s actually his name,Björn) I just fire up vim on that mother-lover work.log and just start putting in my hours.
Modules
I may have gone overboard with this but I just love it when programs are modular or have plugins. The timekeeper software currently comes with two modules and they are both on by default.
One module takes the status and posts it to twitter (I have it set up to post to a private account that I have). And the other on takes a picture using the webcam (just because I’m a sucker for time-lapses).
Here I am drinking beer and writing this blog post using the timekeeper software

Next steps
What I’m gonna work on next is cross-platform-ism. Currently the system is Linux only and I’m gonna need to have it working on Windows and Mac OS X if anyone is gonna use it.
So if you are running Linux, go clone the repository and check it out and just hit me up with anything.
