In my model, I have choose to apply the strategies of “ Slabs and columns and spatial loops” which inspired by the Dutch architectural firm, OMA(Office for Metropolitan Architecture)’ s wood model of Jussieu Libraries. The main idea of OMA’s model is that “floor planes are manipulated to connect; thus forming a single trajectory”.So initially I had made 3 iteration models in order to experimentation and further to see what can I improve in the final model. As figure 1 and 2 showing , the first two of my iterations are not very mature , but in my final model I have combine all the previous features into one. In my final model , I have applied slabs on every floor, and simultaneously used match sticks on each floor acting as columns to setting-up the whole structure of model and the spatial loops.I also have placed stairs at the edge in order to create more space for people to act and communicate. In addition, the structure of my model is as simplicity as OMA did, even has no walls in the whole architecture , but it still firm and conforms with people’s needed and aspiration for the architecture.Furthermore , this structure also makes people engage with the environment outside this architecture better. Overall, this strategies has not only has huge impact on the urban area surrounding , but also able to serve people and take the social responsibilities.
