First, the plating of the connector

Konnra Electronics

The electroplating of the connector is mainly the electroplating of the conductor part, such as PIN, wire end terminal, grounding piece, etc. The main function of electroplating is to prevent oxidation of the surface of the conductor, improve corrosion resistance and protection performance.
Electroplating definition:
Electroplating is to immerse an electroplated piece (product) in a syrup containing metal ions to be plated, and turn on the cathode. The other end of the syrup is placed on a suitable anode (soluble or insoluble), and the surface of the plated part is passed through a direct current. That is, a method of depositing a metal film.
Common plating materials:
Nickel plating: use for bottoming, improve corrosion resistance, thickness is usually 50u”Min.
Tin plating: Improve welding ability, divided into 2 kinds of tin: bright tin and fog tin. Bright tin is not resistant to high temperature, suitable for DIP products; matt tin high temperature resistance, suitable for SMT products.
Gold plating: improve the conductive contact resistance, improve signal transmission, high cost, generally with selective plating gold.
There are two methods of electroplating: first plating and first plating and first plating. The first plating is usually used for electroplating of terminal terminals.
There are two welding methods for board connectors: wave soldering and reflow soldering, all of which are automatically soldered by machine.
The welding process and temperature profile of the two are different:
Wave soldering is used to solder DIP type board end connectors, the maximum temperature of soldering is 240 ° C;

Reflow soldering is used to solder SMT type board end connectors, the maximum temperature of soldering is 260 ° C;
