The Character Development

‘Reader forgets the plot but not the characters’

Characters are the most important part of any story, as they are the ones pulling the story out.

The story revolves around characters and their psychological conflict.

Now you might be wondering, how to write an unforgettable character.

Let’s take a look at the most memorable character in the industry SHerlok Holmes, written by Arthur Conan Doyle in the year 1892 is still memorable but why?

If we properly dissect the character, we will find that every one of us some or the other way relates to Sherlock while on the other hand, he has some features that we really want.

Like we need his ability to not emotionally connect with people, while we relate to his persuasive and creative mentality.

But what creates a relationship between the character and the audience?

Errors and imperfections.

Errors and imperfections are the most useful weapon one can use to create a memorable character.

The character that makes mistakes are more relatable to human nature than one that doesn’t, as it is human nature to make mistakes.

Now go on finding mistakes in your character and let them be the way they are because that is what makes a character beautiful.
