I can relate. Thanks for reminding persons like me that we are not alone.
I reduced my NPR intake when “Morning Edition” turned into the “Today Show” — sometime in 2011, I’d guess after retooling to the concerns of the 2010–elected Congress. I pretended the repeated stories throughout a day were like hit singles, going so far as mouthing key phrases from an earlier broadcast of the same story.
Fortunately, I have a “culturally progressive” college radio station nearby — which I support with donation dollars — broadcasting new music. I do have to listen to persons 35 or so years younger who occasionally mispronounce the band names from my youth (“eye en ex ess” instead of “in excess” for INXS) or, godblessem, don’t know the difference between a band name or its song title (Innagadadavida/Iron Butterfly).
