TOMORROWLAND - THE BEST FESTIVAL OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC IN EUROPE.

Tomorrowland is one of the largest electronic music festivals in Europe and the world. About 180,000 people gather for the weekend in the Belgian town of Boom, for which all the best DJs of our day perform. People from all over the world come to listen to them: from Japan and Australia to Brazil and Argentina.

Plan your trip if you know who Tiesto, Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren are and you like their music. If you prefer, for example, Gorillaz or Beyonce, it is better to choose a different festival.

You need to buy tickets six months before the festival. Everything happens in several stages. In December, you register on tomorrowland.com to qualify for a ticket. Sale takes place in January (prices are more affordable during pre-sale) and February (prices are rising). Then you can join the electronic queue and if someone passes their ticket or does not buy them back, the festival will offer to buy it.

There are two types of tickets: standard and with increased comfort - we will call it VIP. The second option gives access to closed areas where there are fewer people, less queue for a bar and more comfortable dancing. Prices in 2018 started from € 225 for a regular ticket and € 380 for VIP. You can also buy a ticket for one day - from € 94. We had ordinary ones, we simply did not have time to buy better tickets. But, in the end, there was no discomfort from this. When buying a commission will be charged - a few euros.

DreamVille: this is a huge town for 30,000 people right next to the Tomorrowland festival, built by his own team: in fact, this is an artificial city built up for the festival. You can live in different tents, houses, etc. DreamVille residents are provided with all the amenities in the form of showers, toilets, shops, salons and eating places.

A few important details for DreamVille residents:

  • There are paid showers: there is always hot water and more comfortable. Cost — € 1,5
  • You can’t bring anything to the territory in glass containers: do not buy, so that later they will not be taken away at the entrance. But! Backpacks are not always checked, because it can be poured from glass into a regular plastic bottle and then no one will say anything.
  • On the territory of DreamVille itself there is also a mini-supermarket where it is profitable to buy salads and fruits, but there is no alcohol and very expensive water. We did just that: we bought salads and other food for our meals in the morning and afternoon, and in the evening we ate on the territory of the festival.

The choice of food is quite large, but mostly it is fast food. I did not really look closely, but the variety of burgers significantly exceeds the number of points with salads (there are almost none). Personally, I advise you not to rush to buy food, go to different points and see what they give. So, for example, on the first day I bought a tasteless burger, and then for the same money I found a large piece of chicken with potatoes.

From clothes we took a T-shirt for every day, shorts and warm clothes in case of bad weather. As a result, warm clothes were used at night for sleeping, and during the day they cost a T-shirt with shorts. Glasses are needed from the sun, if there is — take a cap, it will be more comfortable. It is also recommended to use sunscreen, you can get sunburn, almost all scenes are open. During the day at the festival include water cannons, they disperse moisture near the scenes, it saves from heat.

The whole trip for one cost about € 1,100. Of these — € 550 ticket and accommodation, € 120 — flights, € 100 — transfers, locker, restaurant, the rest — for food and drinks.

I am a fan of this genre of music and the whole festival was a great pleasure. Emotions — the ocean, I liked everything very much. I heard all the top DJs in the world, saw an amazing light and pyrotechnic show. At Tomorrowland all the little things are taken into account, I have never seen such a level of organization before. In general, the festival has a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. We were also lucky with the weather: there was no rain and heat, it was comfortable to rest. Now, a year before the next Tomorrowland, I am already planning a trip.
