The Mystery of the Sleeping Flowers: How Sleep Helps Us Grow
An Adventure in Rest with Aaron and His Dad
The Importance of Sleep: A Story of Boys, Flowers, and Busy Bees
Aaron, a curious boy whose name means “high mountain” in Hebrew, groaned as his dad called it a day working in the yard. The setting sun cast an orange glow, but to Aaron, it felt way too early to quit. Just as his dad suggested dinner might be ready, Aaron noticed a vibrant purple flower.
“That’s called an African Daisy,” his dad explained, placing a hand on Aaron’s shoulder. “Did you know flowers go to sleep too?”
Aaron’s eyes widened in surprise. “Flowers sleep?”
His dad chuckled. “Yes, they do. Just like us, all living things need rest, even the African Daisy. Sleep gives us energy and helps us stay healthy.”
As they walked inside, the delicious aroma of dinner filled the air. Aaron’s dad continued the conversation. “African Daisies need rest because they have an important job – attracting bees. Bees help plants reproduce by carrying pollen from flower to flower. This allows us to enjoy the fruits and vegetables mama cooks for us.”
