Harry Styles performed in Pittsburgh as part of “Love on Tour” on Thursday, and it was so “Golden.”

This highly coveted concert had been set for July 14, 2021, and was sold out.

For those with tickets for the pit, you could begin lining up at 12 p.m., but the doors did not officially open until 6 p.m.

Jenny Lewis opened for Styles at 8 p.m., and Styles himself came on at 9 p.m. sharp.

The arena lights dimmed, and blue spotlights shone over the screens where Styles’ face would later be projected. Out of seemingly nowhere, Styles appeared in the center of the stage.

Styles wears a different outfit each night of the tour and for the Pittsburgh show, he was dressed in a shiny silver dress shirt, black pants, suspenders and black boots.

He opened the concert with “Golden,” the opening song of his most recent album, “Fine Line.”

The setlist included songs from “Fine Line,” “Harry Styles” (his solo debut album) and even a song from his time as part of One Direction. The song from his One Direction years was “What Makes You Beautiful” and he put a twist on the song as he had to sing all parts of the song. Normally, the songs were split up amongst the members, but obviously, this was Harry’s show.

During a song about acceptance and inclusion, “Treat People With Kindness,” the crowd in the pit formed a conga line, showing how music can bring people of all backgrounds together.

He also caught two pride flags from audience members and ran up and down the stage with them. This action expressed his love and support for those in the LGBTQ+ community.

Harry Styles also performed my favorite of his songs, “Canyon Moon,” but changed up the feel of the song. I loved the change, and it was unreal to have experienced his superb vocals live.

He closed the concert with his hit song off of his debut album: “Kiwi.” During the performance, a crowd member from the pit threw him a seafoam green feather boa. He caught it, put it on, and danced around with it as he sang the sensual song.

I was in utter disbelief that I was able to go to the concert; it was a surreal experience and the perfect show to attend as my first live concert since COVID-19 impacted the nation. Styles put on the best concert I’ve ever seen. From the vocals to his strong stage presence to the extreme talent of his band members, there wasn’t a part that wasn’t a complete hit.

What’s your favorite performance you have ever attended? Who would you want to headline the first live show you see since COVID-19?
