Worse Login UI for “Medium”

even till today i can’t understand why some so-called good web services offer dumb ways for a new user or registered user to login, well coming to the point the login ui of medium is close to worse & below are the explanations which support this

When a new user tries to register as a member in medium theyhave options like “sign-in using facebook” , “sign-in using twitter” , “sign-in using google” & then there is “sign-in using email” which i mostly prefer

as a new user i registered successfully using my email but here comes the worst part.

Is it any internet banking thing ? do i need to get a link & check my inbox every time i want to sign in as if i was transferring my billion $$ to some one & waiting for an OTP kind ? , this is utter stupid decision, no one ever wants to check their email for a link to sign in to read articles!

these are the small things that services fail to understand, they can make a huge impact on end user, the above issue prevails even if user chooses other sign-in options, hope they change their UI for good.
