MY DIET: Tasty, Nutritious, Affordable

Nutrition is one of those topics that seems to permeate every conversation these days.

But whatever your lifestyle choices. I think many would agree that what we eat is very important to our well being and longevity.

For myself. I've always eat whatever, whenever, no matter the cost without much consideration or thought... I had a carefree relationship with food... Still do for the most part...

And like so many others I eventually started noticing and putting effort into changing the undesirable consequences of my lifestyle choices.

So, about a year or more ago I spent a good deal of time putting together an affordable, healtheir diet tailored to my needs and lifestyle.

Though a little arduous. Here's a list of foods that meet my desired dietary criteria.

1). Should be whole food (with exceptions)
2). Readily available
3). Nutrient dense
4). Taste good
5). Affordable
6). Have a long shelf life
7). Very low in carbohydrates 
8). Very low sugar content

Below is a list of foods that aforementioned criteria

FRUITS:

Watermelon
Cantaloupe
Strawberry
Honeydew
Grapefruit
Cranberry

VEGETABLES:

Snap Peas
Cucumber
Cabbage
Broccoli
Lettuce
Tomato
Carrots​

SEEDS & NUTS:

Peanut

SEASONING:

Cayenne pepper
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Black pepper
Salt

PROTEIN:

Sardine
Herring
Shrimp
Eggs
Beef
Pork

LIQUIDS:

Tea
Wine
Liquor
Water (lime or lemon infused)

SUPPLEMENTS:

Calcium & D3 (1 tablet a day)
Multivitamin (1 tablets a day)

OTHER:

Oil (olive, or canola)
Mayonnaise (light)
Peanut butter
Poppedcorn
Granolas
Vinegar
Bread


Pretty simple huh!? Not really… The hard part is disciplining yourself and sticking to it.
