Republicans shamelessly go where the money is and “churches” have a big pile of it that they have not been legally allowed to tap into. If these churches want to function as a for-profit industry, they should be taxed as a for-profit industry, no problem. These mega “churches of what’s happening now” want to have their cake and eat it too. Should the donations of their followers be counted as campaign contributions and be reported as such? The establishment clause in the constitution is there to protect religion from government interference and government from religious interference. Both sides should be careful what they ask for.
