Great idea! Except since Bush Jr. war itself is now a for-profit industry. And that industry lobbies the gov’t. Big time. The US government pays not just US soldiers, not just arms manufacturers here and abroad — but also soldiers of privately held armies belonging to companies may not even be based in the United States to go into the field and complete missions the civilian section of US government deems necessary. The chain of command is totally and utterly FUBAR. Our media and democracy are FUBAR. The so-called GOP, populated by secessionists, segregationists, religionists, and fascists have seen to that goal since Reagan first took office in January 1981.
