A fellow commenter remarks that because Trump is President he can do as he damn well pleases. (Abridged version of comments.)

The following is my reply…:

Guess you forgot, Mr. *****, that our form of democracy — Declaration of Independence and Constitution (that kinda ‘stuff’) — mandates that our government and ALL its Representatives, Senators and Supreme Court Judiciary - AND PRESIDENT - are ACCOUNTABLE to ‘We The People’.

They are to represent the ‘will of the people’, not the ‘will of the one’.

So if they f@#k up — YES, THEY ARE ACCOUNTABLE.

The inherent problem to our current political problems is our (We The People) fault.

For too many decades we have forfeited our responsibility as citizens by leaving every decision to our political leaders and representatives.

With impunity they have taken advantage of OUR ABSENCE IN OUR GOVERNMENT’S BUSINESS.

Time for things to change.

Time for citizens to own their own shit.

Time for us to get involved with our end of our Country’s government responsibilities.

Time to fulfill our duties as citizens in a democracy that holds all men created equal.

Our REPRESENTATIVES at EVERY LEVEL are RESPONSIBLE TO THE PEOPLE.

It is OUR DUTY to question their actions, policies and legislation if they run contrary to the welfare of our citizenry, national security or our global-community standing.

Only in oligarchies, autocracies or dictatorships is it considered acceptable for the leader to do as he alone wills.

That kind of leadership is NOT ACCEPTABLE in a democracy — especially America’s democracy.

“The tyranny of a prince in an oligarchy is not so dangerous to the public welfare as the apathy of a citizen in a democracy.” — Charles de Montesquieu

“I will not attack your doctrines, nor your creeds, if they accord liberty to me. If they hold thought to be dangerous, if they aver that doubt is a crime, then I attack them one and all. Because they enslave the minds of men.” — Robert Green Ingersoll
