Without a properly educated and well informed constituency, it will not matter what reforms are made to the qualifications of our candidates, voting and election systems, and clarifications to our Constitution (most specifically clarifying separation of powers, etc.).
America is sinking into the morass of a collapsing society and civilization.
Our lack of quality education and resultant loss of critical thinking skills for 80 percent, or greater, of our population is the singular reason for our demise.
Our dumbed-down citizenry’s inability to assimilate and evolve past our technological prepubescence is accelerating and facilitating that pace.
As a society/civilization we have mistaken our technological advancement for an evolution of enlightenment, an advancement of our species’ original programming. When in fact quite the opposite has taken place.
None of what has occurred in the last couple or three years is really any surprise to those who still retain a measure of perspicacity. We have been watching this happen with grim foreboding and sick stomachs.
Nor have we been silent about the direction we have been plummeting towards.
Seeing an oncoming cliff looming one’s inherent survival instincts kick in.
At the very least a few screams erupted as our Munchian terrors moved from the mists of probable to very real.
We have been shouting warnings into the void of dark and empty minds, including those of the vast majority of ‘enlightened liberals’, only to be spurned as fear-mongers, or worse, laughed at and ignored.
We need change. But the change that we are headed for is not good. In fact it is very, very, very bad.
