As time passes on and experiences are had, I’ve formed a belief that the most important thing someone at any company can do is serve as a reason for others to want to stay or join the company. When I hire people now the thing I look for is “can this person make others more pumped to be here.” I assess that skill before I have them show any of their design work. Why? Because nothing else matters unless the employee will make each day better and more exciting for all around them.

I wish I did a better job explaining that the thing that will make others pumped to be here could be anything! It just needs to be identified, if it exists. For me I bias towards personality attraction.
