Wikipedia’s definition about willpower:

“control exerted to do something or restrain impulses.”

“most of our bad habits are due to laziness or lack of willpower”

We all have some good habits and some bad habits. We all get good habits and bad habit because of willpower. Because willpower will help you overcome bad habits and start making good habits and keeping them for lifetime.

If I can define willpower than I’ll define it like this:

Willpower = will+power

It’s your will means it’s your willingness to do something or get in control and break habits.

It’s called willpower means you have willingness has power to achieve anything and leave anything by being in control of yourself.

A quick example on this:

Almost everyone have a mobile, tablet or computer. And sometimes they got damaged because of viruses and to fix them we call technician and also buy a antivirus to avoid virus attacks in future.

Just replace words – virus with bad habits, antivirus with willpower and computer with you.

We get bad habits easily but it takes sometime to overcome and break those bad habits and get good habits to fix yourself. And it’s all done by willpower.

Willpower not only helps you to break bad habits and getting good habits but it’ll also help you in achieving what you want to achieve and become what you want to become. Because you cannot do it without being in control of yourself and willpower helps you to be in control of yourself.

To increase your willpower try to get in control of yourself and if haven’t done it before than it maybe hard for you at first time. But it doesn’t mean that you cannot do it.

To increase will power you need to be disciplined and active.

If you want to break a bad habit than makeup a little plan for it. How can you avoid it? and What you’ll need to break it?

After writing them down make up a plan for everyday and add it to the routine. You need to be disciplined to follow that plan in your regular routine. You have to be disciplined not only physically but also mentally.

You cannot be disciplined without training your mind to be disciplined.

If you’re already following plan and still have less willpower than you’ve not followed plan properly with discipline. Apply strict discipline and make it a habit.
