5 Unknown Facts of Lord Shiva
Lord Shiva is one of the trinity God who is believed to be the destroyer of universe. He is born from himself and there is no evidence of his parents anywhere in Hindu epics. A number of facts are still unknown by most of the people and here in this article we will cover 5 of them.
1. No Prayer Procedures
Shiva is the only god whose prayers do not involve any particular procedure or methods. You can please him in any way you wish. You devotion and dedication are the only things required in your prayers.
2. Son of Mahadev & Vishnu
Shiva and Vishnu once took the hari-har form to show their equality. A son was born from them and his name is Ayyappa. Ayyappa slayed the female demon Mahishi, sister of Mahishasur.
3. Baby Form
You might have seen some pictures and paintings of baby Shiva. This was the incarnation which he took to fulfill the wish of one of his devotee, Vishwanath. This baby form is known as Grahapati.
4. Sudarshan Chakra
Do you know it was Mahadev who gave Sudarshan Chakra to lord Vishnu? Later Parashuram borrowed it from Narayan and gave to Shri Krishna.
5. Celibate Yet Extremely Wealthy
As we all know, Lord Shiva has nothing except a trident, damru and skin of tiger & elephant. His necklace is snake and wears a series of Rudraksha beads. But he was the one who blessed Kuber with the boon of becoming the deity of wealth and prosperity. Mahadev has nothing for himself but everything for others.
