Android : Powered by Yahoo!…Imagine what if it came like this!
“Life was much more easier, when Apple and Blackberry were just fruits.”
In an era spanked by technology, we live in a battleground, where tech platforms like Google, Yahoo, etc. are our ammunitions.

Giving you a short teaser of what this article is about, imagine your Gmail is not at the same ease as it is now? Our Google Maps don’t ever exist and we roam around in vain? Our Google Drives don’t exist? Such problems may not altogether hit each one of us, but on an individual analysis our lives are affected by it!
Back in 1998, when a company that two Stanford graduates, Larry Page and Sergey Brin started, what today becomes a verb in the dictionary, GOOGLE, was offered for a price of $3 billion to Yahoo who refused to buy it. Considered as Yahoo’s one of the most stupid deals ever, Google today stands with a net worth of over $500 billion.

Have we ever thought, ‘What if Yahoo had bought Google?’
By a user’s point of view, there might have been two cases:
1)Yahoo would have still been ‘not so significant’ and along with it Google would have not come up as it is now.
2)Google would have brought Yahoo to some another level so that today, they could have shone brighter than anything
What’s more important to us now, when we live in tech freak world are the parameters that would have been affected if this deal would have taken place.
1)Innovations
As per what the history says, Google has almost done five and more folds innovations than Yahoo. With what we call databases and sources, and especially with those brilliant minds.behind Google, Yahoo together would have become the face of today’s TechSociety. The simplest ways we can imagine is making our beloved @gmail.com’s to @yahoo.com or some third name, and opening our smartphones to see Android- powered by Yahoo!

2) Business
Google which offered its own self at $3 billion is valued over $500 billion today and not more has to be added to Google business. But on the other hand Yahoo, which has been valued at over $100 billion. Due to some concrete business norms it could’nt take up the market the way Google did. Not a lot of us know this, but in 2002 aain Google offered Yahoo to invest in business, some $5 billion which would today had multiplied a few number of times. But again it is “would had”!

3) Users
Yahoo has some 800 million users, monthly who are active.Google on the other side has taken over 70% of the world population. Excluding the people in the intersection set, today, both big shots together would have become an incomparable giant.

4) Services
Today Google offers innumerable services in almost all fields. Yahoo isn’t that favourite among users as Google is. Merging with Yahoo and sticking with its ‘not so flexible’ business policies Google along with it wouldn’t have entered in so many fields of life.
So on all the parameters given above, one thing to be also flashed at the back is the other case of Yahoo changing all its norms and becoming much more greater than Google, today, together. But the probability is less, seeing what it has done in the past years.

Seeing current scenarios and in current flow of our lives, our dependency on tech platforms have made us think of all possibilities that would have happened our dearest ‘Google’ would have been bought by Yahoo!
