Glamis Castle in Scotland

Glamis Castle is a castle in the Scottish county of Angus, near the town of Glamis. It is open to the public and acts as the Earl of Strathmore’s as well as Kinghorne’s residence. Glamis Castle has been home to the Lyon family since the 14th century, with the current construction dating primarily from the 17th century. The wife of George VI, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, grew up at Glamis. Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, was their second child and was born there. The castle appears to be a class A classified structure, and the grounds are listed on both Scotland’s Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes, a federal database of notable gardens. Read more
