I do understand that it can be important not to dwell on things, but I hope that you consider how damaging an article like this can be to people who suffer from anxiety and depression. People who have these are constantly hearing things like, “Just think differently about it,” or, “Don’t focus on it so much.” While these are well-intentioned, neither kinds of disorders work that way; we simply cannot, “choose to put our energy elsewhere.” And being told this just compounds the problem, because now not only are we dealing with the initial anxiety and/or depression, but it feels worse because being told to just think differently makes it somehow our fault as well. Just something to consider.
