I completely agree but to say my ancestors singed away my right to sing along? I wasn’t alive then, I will not accept responsibility for what someone else did and although I will certainly sit in the bleachers and cheer, I will sing along too. White people absolutely will never live or fully understand the black experience, it’s not possible and I completely respect Kate for saying that but the black American experience is very much apart of who I am not as a white or black American but as an American. Overall I appreciate Kate’s message.
