Happy KETO Friday!
Today, I’m going to talk about The KETO Lifestyle and why YOU should take those first steps towards improving your well-being and living a healthy life. Changing your lifestyle is never easy, often it could be scary at times. There are always going to be challenges along the way, especially when it comes to diet and exercise.
Now, the KETO Lifestyle is not your average, here let me give you a program where you stick with it for a month or two and then you’re done with it. No way José. This is a lifestyle, meaning you are willing to put in 110% like you would with anything else you love and want to improve on yourself. With time, this is a day-to-day process that will increase your confidence, energy, happiness, and healthier outlook on life. You will learn more about yourself through this program and finally overcome obstacles you never thought you could.
What is KETO?
Ketogenic (or KETO for short) refers to a low-carb, high fat diet, with adequate protein that offers many health benefits such as lowering blood sugar and insulin levels. The KETO diet reduces your carb intake and replaces it with fats. With carb reduction, this will put your body in a metabolic state called ketosis. So basically, You are completing shifting your body’s metabolism away from carbs and towards fats and ketones.
Your calorie intake can range
- 60–75% from fat
- 12–30% from protein
- 5–10% from carbs, which is about only 20g of carbs each day.
How can YOU find this diet useful?
#1 Its EFFECTIVE and provides numerous benefits!
Studies show that the KETO diet increases focus, energy, and better sleep.
#2 It can LOWER risk factors for disease such as heart disease, diabetes, epilepsy, and so many more!
#3 It is so FILLING, that you don’t have to count your calorie/food intake.
FACT: It’s recommended to lower carb intake other than fat intake. One study found that people on a ketogenic diet lost 2.2 times more weight than those on a calorie-restricted low-fat diet.
How can DIABETICS find this diet useful?
A KETO diet can be very effective for people with diabetes. Some of the potential benefits include:
- Better blood sugar management
- Effective weight management
- A feel of fullness and fewer cravings
- More energy
