Love’s Sedative

The glow of the candle on the nightstand,

Just enough light to see,

But more than enough to feel.

The lingering scent of rose and sage in the air,

The touch of your fingertips, your lips, your body,

An excitement returned.

The comforting weight of your head,

As you gently doze on my chest.

I don’t want to move,

I want to lay here forever,

Yet I can’t tonight so these are the things,

I will remember as I drift off to sleep with a smile.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
