The In Between

There’s the space in between,

Between seeing you and not seeing you,

Between touching and not touching,

That can cause a heart to pause.

I don’t look forward to these spaces,

Between good and bad, Between light and dark,

They haunt me in the wee hours,

And carry me off.

If there were a wand,

I would surely wave it,

To speed up the time of the spaces in between.

If there were a way to speed up the moon,

Or the sun,

Or the wind,

Or the sea,

Or the flame,

I would do it.

If only there were a way,

There may be,

There may not,

Either way,

There are warm memories to fill,

The spaces in between.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
