Moving from Hawaii, I was nervous but super excited to move to Washington and meet new people. The main reason to why I chose PLU was because of the people. I visited other colleges in California and it was beautiful, but the people were nowhere near as nice. Over the years, I have met some of the greatest people I know. Now, as a Junior here at PLU, I live with five of my best friends in a house off campus. They are such awesome people. They always push me to do my best and we pick each other up when times get tough. It has just started to hit me that I only have just over a year left to live with them. Their names are Taylor, Megan, Ashley and Hailey. What I’ve learned is to cherish the present. One of my favorite sayings is said by Bill Keane, which he says “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift from God, which is why we call it the present.” I encourage all of you to do the same. Live in the moment and enjoy the ride.
