D42 – Heat

This week has included a lot of training and maybe a bit more, than actually planned. Nevertheless I had a lot of fun smiling through the miles.

Training towards my main race this autumn is going well and I definitely feel the effort I put in is paying of. Some days are naturally easier, more fun than others but I mainly feel tired in a very good after a workout and that’s important to me. The only thing I’ve been struggeling with during this weeks run is the heat. My God it’s been warm, near tropical conditions to be honest, and made every workout feeling slightly harder to get through than usually.

Pushing yourself through a tempo run or track session in +28 degrees is no joke at all and well done to everyone not letting this mental late summer heat stop you from training. Sunny weather also means that the summerly runners tan get another chance of showing off on all athletes training outside these days. As good as it might look while wearing sports clothes, as bad it truely does when naked.

Well, let’s hope these warm days stay around a bit longer anyway, cause who doesn’t like sunny days like these? Not me, that’s for sure, and I’m going to enjoy the sun as long as it lasts!
