What a brilliant insight! I wonder how true the “all” is and whether some more nuanced information can be derived indirectly from it.

For instance, there are more accepting sects of religions that are pretty open to other ideas. Does this characteristic correlate with other properties?

I also wonder how far back this goes. Contemporary religious historians, at least in Catholicism, which I know a bit about, characterize this attitude going back to at least the AD 200s. Although I question whether the interpretation is accurate or just a framing to justify the present.

It’s interesting because manipulation is a technology and science. I have a tendency to frame this as a 20th century movement starting with Bernays and Propaganda.

You remind me that it goes back thousands of years. Brilliant insight.

Thanks!
