“6 Essential College Facts You NEED To Know”
Starting college is a big deal, especially when you move out of your comfort zone.
As a recent college graduate, I wish someone had told me these 6 important facts earlier.
Friendships in college are not forever.
All those first-year large groups will most likely break apart.
Don’t depend solely on them, take time to introspect and invest your time accordingly.
Experiences are more important than money.
As a student, you need to spend wisely, but if you ever have to choose between experiencing something new or saving money, don’t hesitate. Either you’ll end up having the best time of your life, or you’ll learn and grow from the experience.
Explore as much as you can.
College is the time of your life where you have all the time and leverage to do whatever you want.
Don’t limit yourself to one particular thing, be it skill set, inclinations, food, or anything else. Just explore and try to find your true calling.
Academics are not everything.
Studies are important, but don’t forget to focus on developing your skillset and expertise by doing internships and actively participating in extracurricular activities.
Having a partner is not mandatory.
Don’t wait to get into college to start a romantic relationship.
There is no right time for it, and taking your time is absolutely okay.
Remember, the goal is not to have a girlfriend/boyfriend, but a good partner. Don’t let the wrong person destroy your mental peace and time.
Don’t be driven by FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out).
It’s okay not to like late-night parties or what the crowd conventionally does.
You are unique, and that’s what makes you YOU. Speak up for yourself and live your best life in college.
Remember, college is a unique time in your life, so make the most of it by being true to yourself and taking advantage of all the opportunities available.
In the end, it’s your experiences that will shape your future.
