Rally Your Squad This Thanksgiving — Destination: South West
Posted by: Kirk

With a bit of chill in the air, this fall weather has us thinking about big weekend getaways. And where did our heads go first? Thanksgiving USA, baby.
Generally speaking, Thanksgiving tends to be a goldmine for sports and entertainment madness wherever you might be. That said, this year we’ve found that a trip to the American South West is likely the best bet to please pretty much anyone.
Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix — we’re talking about an epic three-state-triangle of good times. Spend the whole weekend in one spot or hit the interstate to cobble together an amazing long weekend getaway. With these three major cities within driving distance, it’s like a choose your own adventure for adults. With hundreds of events to choose from, you’ll be hard-pressed to find time to sneak in some Black Friday shopping.
Let’s get down to business. Here’s our top three must-sees:
ASU Sun Devils at Arizona Wildcats (NCAAFB) — It’s an all Arizona showdown. You better believe the college kids are skipping Thanksgiving with the family so why wouldn’t you?
Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods Match Play — This is a new concept and nobody really knows what to expect. Whether you find a way to make it into the exclusive gallery thats rumoured to exist or you’re watching the PPV to kick start your night in Vegas, you can’t really go wrong.
Calgary Flames at Vegas Golden Knights — Vegas is the new #1 destination for NHL fans everywhere. Late November seems like the right time of year to head for some ice hockey in the desert.
Piqued your interest? Here’s a few more destination events going on in the South West over turkey-weekend that you and your squad might be interested in:

For our Canadian friends, Thanksgiving is definitely a little bigger and better down south… it’s worth getting in on. And for our American pals, we’re sure that Grandma will forgive you for not being at the big family dinner if you’re spending the weekend in Vegas with Tiger and Phil 😎
