5 Teams to look out for in the 2017–18 NBA Season
5. New Orleans Pelicans
This year the Pelicans did not have the best season because they did not have the best team. But near 3/4 of the season, they got all-star season and probably the best center in the NBA, Demarcus Cousins. Now they have an amazing PF in young Anthony who is already smashing records to add with the talent of Demarcus Cousins. In this offseason they acquired Rajon Rondo, a point guard that can distribute the ball among the players.
4. Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets currently have James Harden, one of the best players in the NBA. In the 16–17 Harden had to play the PG, instead of his usual SG position. With a great PG and one of the greatest of all time, Chris Paul has the court vision to compliment Harden and to dish the ball out to the rest of the team.
3. Oklahoma City Thunder
With the current MVP Russell Westbrook who shattered 3o records this past season, another star added to the team would make the team title contenders. And they got just that. By adding superstar Paul George to their roster, they have a chance to make the 2 or 3 seed in the West. If all goes well, then Paul George can sign a contract for a couple of years to keep the duo of Westbrook and George in-tact.
2. Cleveland Cavaliers
With LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love all on one team, in most years this team would have easily won the championship. But the 16–17 season was no ordinary season. It was the first time in decades that we saw a SUPERTEAM being formed. It worries a lot of teams, especially the Cavs, who would’ve won the championship if it wasn’t for Kevin Durant going to the Warriors. But when LeBron loses, he gets even more fueled for the next season to do even better. Kyrie Irving is still young and has a lot of progression to be made and will grow a lot in the next few years and will emerge as a Super Star.
1 Golden State Warriors
You guys all this coming and for every team in the NBA, the warriors are a problem. They just seem unbeatable, and rightly so. Kevin Durant is a scoring beast and won the MVP in 2015. Stephen Curry has limitless range and won the MVP twice. Klay Thompson has one of the purest jumpshots that the NBA has ever seen and can make it rain. And the defense of Draymond Green is just amazing. If you combine all these things onto one team, then these teams are pretty much unbeatable. Most people, including myself, believe that the Warriors will dominate the NBA for the next 3–4 years and will win at least 2 championships.
