An Introduction to Front Range Biosciences: Bringing the Best of Biotech to Cannabis
Front Range Biosciences® began in Boulder, Colorado over cups of coffee and a shared vision for applying the best practices in agriculture to cannabis and high-value crops, like coffee. Our values became obvious: a strong work ethic, a love of start-ups, a vision for changing the world through technology, and a belief that specialty crops have the potential to positively impact the planet through medicine, recreation, and nutrition.
Since then, Front Range Biosciences® has been dedicated to revolutionizing the practice of tissue culture propagation for high value crops. In August 2016, we began developing a proprietary method of tissue culture through our Clean Stock® program that essentially scrubs plants of diseases. Additionally, it is the first industrial-scale tissue culture production process for cannabis.
As the industry grows and recreational marijuana legalization is considered in states across the country, it will be critical that cannabis has the same technological advantages as other crops like corn and soybeans. Biotechnology is used to reduce pesticides, diseases and contribute to more environmentally friendly, high-quality plants. Our efforts are directed toward meeting a significant, yet unmet need, to provide industrial scale propagation methods and develop a genomics-based breeding platform for the creation of new varietals with better traits.
By utilizing premier genetics and using the powerful tools of modern agricultural science, we are paving the way for a new frontier in breeding and production for cannabis and other high-value crops.
