Towards a PhD: The Real Summer Feel
Day 154: 9/1/2018
It was a good day for running since I was able to finished my 12K run for the first time.
The morning was rather slow since P’Gluay was still at home and I was extremely tired from working three days straight last night and then decided to get up at 8.30. Then it started and we cooked and had breakfast.
The next few hours on my own were spent uselessly on nothing. Instead of picking up where I left off from last night, I decided to search for decorating ideas for our new apartment. The moving date is the day after tomorrow but we still have not ordered any essentials, especially my desk and our wardrobe. So, those hours were spent on searching ideas I like and items we need on the internet.
The afternoon was the highlight of the day as I went out for an afternoon run in the park. It was the first time I saw Rowntree Park live and in motion. There were so many people, especially families with kids spending time hanging out, going for a walk and so forth in the park. All made my run more lively and meaningful.

Having had planned to run for 10 or 11 kilometers today, I left my apartment at 4 pm sharp and made my way to along the city wall, along to the river, across the Millennium Bridge and then to the park. It was a refreshing for both mind and body. At the end I decided to go for an extra hour by cooling down while walking to HomeSense and Waitrose.
Altogether, I did my first 12K. Though I felt so exhausted afterwards because of the hot summer weather today, all felt worthwhile. I felt so energetic and fulfilled.

Now time for fun is finally over. It is time to get back to my serious work and get it done and over. Wish me luck!
