CS373 Weekly Blog — Week 10
What did you do this past week?
We started to learn about SQL and how to write things and pick things from the table. We also did some hackerrank tests during classes and I found them really interesting. I can not wait to learn more about SQL. Other than that and my IOS mobile computing project, nothing really happened during my past week.
What’s in your way?
The next phase of our project is in our way. We didn’t get an excellent grade on our last project but I believe the next phase would be better. I have two more homework other than the swe projects next week and it’s my birthday the week after! I am really looking forward to it but at the same time, I know deep from my heart that I need to finish all my tasks first before I can really enjoy my birthday.
What will you do next week?
Probably start on our next phase and keep learning more on SQL. I don’t know if we are going to use SQL in our project for the class but they are really useful when coming to real-life experience. My IOS mobile computing project will also be started next week so next week will be a pretty overwhelming one. After last week, hopefully, things will get back to normal and more relaxing again.
What was your experience of SQL? (this question will vary, week to week)
I used SQL before during one of my summer internships and I find that really useful because it’s a popular kind of database.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My pick-of-the-week will be any online-python compiler. We are learning Python this class and I am also tutoring for Python in another basic computer science class. In that class, students were told to write and run code in the Python console. I agree that’s a legit and well understanding way of learning but for some small simple code snippets, online python compiler will become really handy.
