This constantly saddens & angers me. I’m retired now, but in the 80’s I was R&D manager for a new engineering project. I had to hire a team of 14 engineers. Most were recent graduates, because what we were attempting to do hadn’t been done before. I chose 2 young women & had a hell of a time getting them approved & if not for a smart Director of R&D (my boss), they probably wouldn’t have. Part of the reason I wanted them was that they had a drive to prove themselves & an attitude that nothing was impossible! We won Aus. design awards & Prince Phillip prizes over the next few years.
I don’t understand the fear men have of women in Science/Engineering. I never have, I never will. I wish all of you the very best & hope I see this change before my time is up. The World certainly needs you right now, even if most don’t know it. Nothing is impossible! Believe me, I know! ;) :D
