It’s amusing how as a society we can collectively move forward with such tremendous advances in technology and medicine, but the issue of race relations is still front and center. We’ve responded by kneeling, protesting, hash-tagging, and pooling tons of data on how unfair and abysmal we treat certain minorities.
What is the one thing we can institute regardless of our socioeconomic backgrounds to fight this? Foster kindness, understanding, and encourage unity. At the very basic nature of what it is to be human we are all the exact SAME. We want to be loved, we want to be understood, we want to make something of ourselves, and we want to protect and provide those who we care for. The notion of our skin color being the root of our differences is as shallow as the people who use it as a tool to divide us.
