What is your Self Worth?

Your self worth must remain independent of your career, your relationships, your paycheck, your thoughts, your appearance and the outcomes of your life. Trust me, this takes a considerable amount of diligence, practice, and also the right environment to come to fruition. It may mean taking an account of everything that has led you to where you are, and removing everything, everyone, and every thought that no longer serves you. I still struggle with this, maybe a few of you as well.

Most people wait for a sign to come along to change the direction of their life, but acting proactively can prevent some headache and heartbreak later. Anxiety and depression are manifested when that burden of thought lies too heavily in the past or in the future. As someone who’s doled out his fair share of medications to treat both, I firmly believe that they are not the sole answer. Many people, including myself, have cycled through these emotions at some point.

Let it be known that acknowledging these emotions instead of denying them is the first step toward recovery. Seeking help is a sign of strength and not weakness. You are not required to carry the burden and be hobbled by these emotions. There is a long and prosperous life to be lived that warrants your enthusiasm and happiness.
