Hello Readers,

Greetings from The Magic Ceiling, hope you are having an amazing Sunday!

Today’s piece is on us getting our groove back on whatsoever we may have decided upon but are unable to take effective action on.

Thank you for reading. This post is public so feel free to share it. You will be greatly helping me in my journey.

A friend of mine recently told me about how she was facing difficulty getting her work flow in place since last few days and asked what she should do about it.

A very common problem that all of us face some time or another but maybe at times are not able to really grip it and turn it around.

I threw the problem to my mind and allowed it some time to rationally give a way out rather than give the commonplace know all responses:

“Oh, it is okay, you should also take a break sometimes” or ”It’s fine, you’ll get it done tomorrow” or ”Really?? I don’t feel like working any day of the week!!……. Tell me something new”.

By the end, my thinking industry’s (my mind) small minting process, gave me a very simple and very practical understanding. One that I often use in this process of Getting Back on Track.

The Setup

Imagine a board with your consciousness at the start point.

Your workflow or continuity of your desired action is like a straight path on that board, which comprises of endless compartments, each walled on their sides.

The walls depending upon the frequency of our visits to that particluar box.

The path starts on your first day of action,………….. by the time you reach the same action on the second day your mind would have a undergone a whole journey through various other boxes by result of your own selection.

The boxes are any and all experiences -

Good interactions, neutral interactions, bad conversations, OTT platforms, Youtube vids, Tik Tok reels, Insta, workout, laziness and endless other things.

The Problem

Some boxes along the timeline of your day will be productive and valuable to you whereas very often, some will be completely unfruitful, without value, distracting, wasteful, right?

The nature of the compartments you make yourself and your mind visit today, have a direct effect on your mind’s ability to recall it’s way back to the path you want it to follow tomorrow.

You start watching some Insta humour Reel and you end up half an hour later watching something which will have a comment like this:-

”You have no idea how you have arrived at this video, Right? Neither Do I.”

You will smile, chuck it and again…..More Insta humour — More Insta reels — An Endless Loop.

These distractions, on any platform, these will pick your consciousness and throw it to the farthest corner available of our board.

The Solution

Where lies the problem, there often lies the solution too.

Awareness

Before any action, It is important to realize how any and all experiences prime our future actions and augment or sabotage the ease with which we carry them out. The Ingredients we need are these :-

Will (To Think of the Action).

Mood (To do the Action).

Focus (To Continue).

How do we get them?

Correct Course Amplifiers

To ease your mind into consistency of your workflow, the solution lies in at times not mechanically attempting the very same work, rather, to take actions unrelated on the surface level but which hit these above ingredients. You need what i call Correct Course Amplifiers/Binders.

To name a few from Personal Example:-

Correct Course Amplifiers/Binders

  1. Working Out : The Simplest and Most Effective
  2. Breathing : Any Method you like, i would recommend closing your eyes and putting earplugs to drown out any other sound (Also very very effective, any time of the day)
  3. Music : Try out a musical instrument if you like (Greatly assists your focus)
  4. Writing/Journalling
  5. Discourse — A talk with your mentor or someone whose thinking you admire.
  6. The point being — You need Constructive Activities. Maybe unrelated to your task, but definitely constructive/creative/developmental.
  • These amplifying boxes reset our mood, improve our focus and build consistency underneath all future actions of yours.

The path of our desired act requires placement of these boxes along it at regular intervals, which act as amplifiers, like a binding force.

These build the walls for the path which you want to take for improvement in any discipline, giving them strength and height to prevent our mind from escaping to unwanted boxes and getting lost in their maze.

Thus, making sure we ease into the focus for what we want to actually do and do it consistently.

The solution is simple, it is not rocket science, however, like all good things, it needs time for it’s strength, it’s foundation, it needs your emotionless action at times.

Make a list of things which suit you, which assist you significantly in acting better, feeling better, thinking better in the upcoming moment.

List them.

Keep them with you

And then, do them randomly if you find it difficult to follow routine.

Go Be Better Today.
