I enjoyed reading about how you were socialized when you were younger. I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it was for you to try and adjust to American norms seeing that I was born and raised here. I also visited Japan but was fortunate enough to have a regular toilet where I was staying. But I do agree with the lack of personal space. The people were open about almost everything while I was much more reserved.
