Relaxed — Refreshed — Recharged

deep relaxation

I also have that bad habit of scrolling social media sites to get something interesting. One day I got a post regarding an internship where an organization is looking for interns who can sleep 9 hours daily in the night.

The organization requires the candidates should have the habit of quick, deep and long sleep. As a lazy person that attracts me but I don’t have that kind of talent to sleep quickly and deeply.

The post was not a fake one, the organization is a sleep solutions manufacturer and the interns would have to sleep on the mattress company makes.

All this little happening brings me the chance to think about a big problem, of my and of many.

A deep sleep of just about 15 minutes would work the same as the sleep of 7 hours. I have experienced it during the practice of Shavasana — A yogasan of relaxation.

If you have that mind full sleep of 15 minutes you will feel the same freshness and energy as you feel in the morning and after a long sleep.

The problem is we don’t have that kind of sleep daily which causes stress and depression.

While Google for solutions for the problems; Ahypnia and Sleeplessness, I came out to a technique called Yoga Nidra.

The Scientific Way of Sleeping.

When The Mind Is Without Fear…

There are three things in the process of sleep, first is the relaxation — there are many ways to get relax, human sometimes sleep to get relax, sometimes he walks or run, listen to music, etc. this is just the diversion of senses.

Second is sleep itself — This is the tradition that we would sleep in the night. We sleep but our mind still working, it surrounds by fears and anxieties.

In both the above processes our mind wouldn’t get free from tensions but only divert it one sense to another.

The third one is the concentration where we control or move our concentrations from conscious to the subconscious to the unconscious mind. This concentration process is called Yoga Nidra.

This is a meditation in the sleeping posture. Like in the meditation we try to free our mind form all the thought process but we don’t really sleep, same we do in the Yoga Nidra.

The innermost area of our mind is the unconscious mind where interesting hidden mind power is sleeping for always. We, through Yoga Nidra, try to get into this area.

With the use of this technique, we not only can solve our sleeping problems but also can get those calmness and mindfulness is life.

I think the Yoga Nidra is a very useful technique to learn for students, professionals, and entrepreneurs.
