It’s just tiresome when a review for a movie spends more time dissecting the Director’s well-established tendencies than the nuts and bolts of the movie. I would have liked to have read more about the movie and less about all the ways the reviewer disagreed with the artistic choices or noticed that Nolan directed a movie in the style of (!!!) Nolan. It’s a narrowly focused biopic about men strafing a beach of men being saved by men. But we’re commenting on his choice of masculine narrative? Bizarre. I came for a movie review and instead got a reminder of how C Nolan directs... thanks?
