This is indeed a sad state of affairs and demonstrates how distracted our minds are thinking with social media, luxury items and money. The fundamental question is “Will this make me happy?” I don’t think many people are stopping to ask this question to themselves or even discussing with their spouse.

There is much to enjoy about Silicon Valley — the mountains, ocean and wonderful weather. But how many of us are taking 10 minutes a day to observe and appreciate the beauty of the Valley and get back to our roots as human beings?

Just a couple of weeks back my wife and I slept in our backyard under the dark sky with sparkling stars. And this past weekend morning we sat at a beach in Santa Cruz watching the waves and birds. These experiences definitely brought our mind and body closer to nature. Most importantly it’s helped clarify our thinking.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
