Declassified Mission

  • Should you activate this, Nemacysts will join the fight. Watch out, they’re flying suicide ink bombers.

Walkthrough

This mission is short and simple. Much like the Horde mode introduced in Gears of War 3, this level will have you defending against enemies in multiple waves. The enemies that spawn range from Grubs, Wretches and Boomers. If you activate the Declassified Mission, which is located on the balcony you begin on, but facing out towards the hall, Nemacyst will also spawn. These creatures act like heat seeking missiles. They will scout for you and pull an old fashion kamikaze.

The first wave of enemies will begin after the first one minute and thirty seconds of the level, giving you time to set up and grab some gear. You’ll notice to the left and ammo stash. This can be used an infinite amount of times. Near this ammo is a case of Lancers and Gnasher shotguns. Choose what you will and move to the front of the balcony where you will find a Gnasher Sentinel and a Range Sentinel. These are deployable weapons that target and shoot enemies on their own. The Range sentinel is best set up near the spike strip on the left staircase. There is a long range between it and the Locust spawn points. The Gnasher Sentinel is perfect near the laser fence on the right. The fence will draw enemies close, allowing the Gnasher to do nasty damage.

When the first wave of enemies is over, you’ll have thirty seconds to prep for the second, and final, wave. If your Sentinels have depleted their ammo, simply approach them and resupply. It’s easy and free!

The second wave consists of even more Grubs, more Nemacyst, Boomers and Wretches. Keep control of the balcony to hold you advantage. Don’t let them destroy you spike or laser strips. Otherwise they’ll begin to pour upstairs.

Before you finish and exit the level, notice the fountain in the middle of the room. Painted on this statue is another red COG symbol, this can only mean there is a COG Tag nearby. Hope into the fountain and look to the bottom until you see the COG Tag and collect it!
